“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)
Devotional Thought
Praise the Lord Church Family! This week, I would like to share some thoughts from Hebrews 4:12.
In this verse, we learn that the Bible is not just a collection of ancient writings — it is the living, active Word of Almighty God. When we open Scripture, we are not merely gaining information. We are encountering the living God who speaks directly to our hearts, renew our minds, and transforms our lives.
The writer of Hebrews tells us that God’s Word is “quick, and powerful.” Meaning, It has the ability to cut through our defenses, expose our true motives, and bring both conviction and comfort. It renews our minds, corrects our thinking, and aligns our hearts with God’s will.
Many Christians read the Bible inconsistently because they treat it as a religious obligation rather than a relationship. But when we approach the Lord God’s Word with expectancy — asking the Holy Ghost to open our eyes — it becomes a powerful tool for the transformation of our lives. It is a mirror that shows us who we really are, who we ought to become, and who we are becoming in Christ.
Start small. Start this week. Even five or ten minutes a day in the Word of God can change your life. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you. Write down what stands out. Over time, you will find that Scripture becomes a constant companion and source of strength in every situation, in every season.

Prayer
Father, please open my eyes that I may behold wonderful things from Your law. Make Your Word alive and powerful in my life and help me to live it to your glory. Amen.

Choose one chapter or passage of Scripture to meditate on slowly each day this week and write down what God shows you.
